After 10 years and over 200 appearances for Bath Rugby, full-back Nick Abendanon has established himself as a firm favourite amongst fans.
Join us on Monday 12th May to say a fond farewell and “bonne chance” to Bendy before he begins a new chapter in his rugby career. The evening will be an informal gathering of supporters, players and friends to celebrate Nick's time at Bath and the end of a fantastic season of rugby. Everyone is welcome!
Please book your place via the BRSC online shop so we know numbers.
Alternatively, you can RSVP to administration@allez-bath.co.uk and pay on the night.
We are collating your memories, photos and good luck messages to display on the night so please tweet us your photos and messages @Allez_Bath using the hashtag #byeBendy or post on our Facebook page.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Kind regards,
Jen

Update 10/03/14: First box fully booked - second, adjacent box secured!
After an early outing in September to the fledgling programme, we have now been invited to bring a gang of Bath supporters to BT Sport’s East London studios to take part in their Rugby Tonight show on Wednesday 9th April – and it’s a Blue, White & Black special!
Have you ever wondered what it’s like behind the scenes, or just fancy being on TV? Well, here’s your chance - and the best bit is, the programme is all about Bath. The Rugby Tonight show is recorded live at the studio in the Olympic Park from 8pm to 9.30pm.
BRSC have organised coach travel to London and will be leaving Bath at 2.30pm to be there for the requested arrival time of 6.30pm. We will depart from Pulteney Street and can also pick up from the bus stop at Cepen Park, Chippenham next to the Morrisons complex.
If you are based in the London area, then you’re pretty much there already. Feel free to make your own way to Stratford and meet us there – but it is essential that you let us know that as we will still have to reserve a ticket for you with BT Sport and also provide you with specific directions!
It’s a fun experience and free to attend; just the coach transport costs of £15 for BRSC Members and £18 for non-members to pay.
Unfortunately, BT Sport regrets that no-one under the age of 18 is allowed to take part in the transmission and recording of the programme.
There is a canteen onsite that serves food and drink (incl. alcohol), which has a free to use cash machine, but they also accept cash and card payments of £5 and over. You can also bring your own sandwiches should you wish!
Please go directly to the BRSC online shop to pay for your seat on the coach and reserve your place; alternatively you can come and see us at the Rec on one of the two matchdays prior to the event.
If you would like to join up with us in London then please let us know via administration@allez-bath.co.uk, and take this opportunity to show your support for the Club in a highly visible way. It would be great for viewers of the show to see as many Bath fans there as possible!
BRSC are hosting the travelling Brive Supporters at Jika Jika on Sunday morning
before the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final match. You are now invited to join us and help to make our French friends feel very welcome in Bath. If you can, pop in for a chat and discuss the
strengths and weaknesses of the respective teams. Some of those Brive supporters' only experience of Bath Rugby was in 1998 in Bordeaux - and we have not played against them since!
Please support this event if you are able to join us – we do not often have the opportunity to welcome a French Supporters’ Club to Bath, as few French fans seem to travel to the Rec or anywhere else
abroad. Last season we managed to host 'Les Amis du Stade Francais' in a similar way at Jika Jika and - unlike the match result - the event was a great success.
We will have our 1998 Heineken Cup Final DVD for sale as well (featuring full coverage of the match in which we beat Brive 19-18), priced at £5, with £4 from each sale going to our charity. If you want a copy but cannot make it to Jika Jika, buy yours from our online shop, price £5 (plus £1 p&p for up to 3 DVDs).

When it was announced that Gary Gold was leaving his role as Director of Rugby many supporters said that they would have liked an opportunity to say goodbye and thank you. With this in mind BRSC have arranged an informal evening with Gary at Jika Jika, George Street, Bath on Wednesday 29th January at 7.30pm. Gary has accepted our invitation and is looking forward to the opportunity to thank supporters for the good wishes that he has received and to say a formal goodbye.
ALL Bath Rugby Supporters are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided. Admission is free but it would be helpful for our catering arrangements if you let us know if you intend to be there.

Our Six Nations Forum has now been arranged for next Monday 20th January, and will be in the Premier Lounge in the Clubhouse. As might be expected in the run-up to the start of the Internationals on February 1st, securing the availability of an expert panel of former international players, coaches and referees has not been easy.
However, we are delighted to announce that BRSC Honorary President Lee Mears will join former International Referee and BRSC Honorary Member Tony Spreadbury on the panel to be chaired by renowned rugby journalist Chris Hewett of The Independent – who chaired our Lions Tour Forum very successfully back in May.
Admission is free for BRSC Members, and £3 for others – please book your place by e-mailing administration@allez-bath.co.uk or by telephoning 01749 831204.

Please note that the venue has changed
Back in June, new broadcasters BT Sport visited Premiership rugby clubs to find out what rugby-related programming potential viewers particularly wanted to watch on their two new channels. They held a Fans’ Forum and Q&A at our Clubhouse, after which some of your Committee approached them and explained that we thought that many BRSC members would be very interested in visiting the new studio facilities and in being in the audience for their mid-week live rugby show.
On Friday evening (30/08) we received an invitation from BT Sport to be part of the ‘participating audience’ for their new live weekly magazine show “Rugby Tonight” on Wednesday 11 September. They are looking for a group of 20-25 BRSC members to travel to their new studio complex in the Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, as part of the build-up to the following Saturday’s televised Bath v Leicester centenary fixture. Rehearsals(!!) start at 17.30.
Would you be interested in travelling up to the studios? The only condition BT Sport have stipulated is that everyone must be aged 18 or over.
We have put together the following package:
Coach from Bath to BT Sport’s studios in the Olympic Park, Stratford, East London.
Depart Gt Pulteney Street (near Williams Street ) at 13.30.
The rehearsals start at 17.30 and the live ‘Rugby Tonight’ show runs from 20.00 to 22.00 (even though this week’s introductory programme is only 1 hour long). The return coach will depart Stratford
at 22.30.
Cost: £15 for BRSC Members and £20 for others (transport costs only).
Booking method:
Please send an e-mail to committee@allez-bath.co.uk if you want to join us. Once we have received your e-mail we will
send you an invoice that is payable via PayPal or directly into our bank account.
Payment is due by Friday 6 September.
Alternatively, if you live in the London area or if you want to make your own way there, please send an e-mail to us by 6 September to book your place, as we will still have to count you within the
overall number of places that we have been allocated. This is free, as there is no charge for the studio visit itself.
We have already received sufficient bookings to ensure that this trip will go ahead.
