It was a great evening last night. The evening began with a welcome drink followed by
Jimmy Deane and the rest of the community team saying a little about their work
in the Foundation. Also Kate Eddy and
Marianne Ellis, Bath Ladies players and coaches, spoke about the Girls/Ladies
Development teams.
This led on to the supporters taking part in a
variety of interactive games and before they knew it they were turned into
classmates and the Foundation staff into their teachers! The games were taken
from the programmes that are done with the children in schools.
To break the ice the
supporters were introduced to an interactive whiteboard game where they had to
match international flags to a country.
Then from the classroom environment to the Recreation Ground for more
games!
All the supporters took part
in the Healthy Lifestyles Programme and were invited to put together a healthy
meal by placing food cards onto the Eat Well Mat. This is a big smiley face with different
sections for carbs, fruit, fats, dairy and sugar. Language Through
Sport was demonstrated in a game of chase by using the French words allez,
arête and merci and this was followed by everyone being given a tag belt to
play a game of tag. Everyone began by
walking around but by the end of the evening their enthusiasm took over and
everyone was charging around like ‘young things’ determined to be the one with
the most tags!
Back to the clubhouse to
cool down and to have a few drinks. The
Theatre Factory was there to entertain them with a few songs before the evening
ended.
It was a great evening and
we hope it gave a more realistic vision to the supporters of what the
Foundation actually does. The Foundation
appreciates all the fundraising and support that the Supporters do give to the
charity and we hope that they now understand a little bit more as to what they
are helping.
